According to a prominent leaker, Zippo, 1-2 Switch has a sequel in development right now.
Zippo is a familiar name for people who follow the Nintendo rumor mill. He’s been right about several major announcements over the years, but his track record is mixed, so hype responsibly.
The original 1-2 Switch game was released in March 2017. It was a first-party launch title for the Nintendo Switch, alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo developed 1-2 Switch to showcase the console’s unique Joy-Cons controllers and give Switch owners a chance to experience what the Switch could do.
1-2 Switch is a party game that used the Joy-Cons to have players compete with each other in mini-games that ranged from interesting wild-west quickdraws to bizarre cow-milking competitions.
With 1-2 Switch, Nintendo was hoping to recreate the magic of the Wii’s motion controls and the unbelievable success of Wii Sports. But 1-2 Switch received mediocre to poor reviews, receiving a 58 on Metacritic.
However, 1-2 Switch did sell very well, especially in Japan, so a sequel might not be too far-fetched of an idea.
