GBA Dune Game Being Revived

Back in 2002, the Dune Game Boy Advance game was almost completed but the financial issues of publisher Cryo Interactive caused the game to be canceled.

At this time, the game was called Frank Herbert’s Dune: Ornithopter Assault and was licensed to use the setting and characters from the famous Dune novel. In the recent film based on the book, the focus is being placed back on Dune.

Developer The Retro Room Games has acquired the rights to the game but was unable to renew or acquire the rights to make a new Dune game.

While the GBA Dune game is technically coming, all of the Dune references are being removed from the visuals and script. This is why the game has a brand new name as well.

Elland: The Crystal Wars will be released for the Game Boy Advance and is currently looking for funding on Kickstarter. It still has quite some time to go, but the game is already almost fully funded.
