Nintendo announced that the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise, will be free with the highest tier of Nintendo Switch Online. The new paid Happy Home Paradise DLC was announced alongside the free version 2.0 update during last week’s Animal Crossing presentation.
Happy Home Paradise is a paid DLC accessible from the airport where the player can work with Lottie, the otter, to build custom holiday homes for clients. Select an island best suited to the client. Then, customize their holiday house’s exterior and interior with furniture, decorations, and more. This earns Poki, which can be spent on Paradise Island for rare furniture items and to expand the hub with more customizable buildings.
Nintendo has clarified to Eurogamer that ending your Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscription will not totally end all access to the DLC. Players can still access some of what they’ve unlocked while playing. However, players will no longer be able to visit other islands or take on requests to design more homes.
