Indie World Showcase – December Round Up

The latest Nintendo Indie World Showcase featured a range of indie games, Around 20 new games were confirmed during the event, and we saw various older indie games return during the showcase.

A handful of popular indie games were confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, and some of them were given release dates, too.

Chicory: A Colorful Tale – Available Now

While some big indie games were announced for the Nintendo Switch and confirmed release dates, plenty of other games were included in the showcase. Many of them look fantastic but lack the same popularity since they’re brand new.

Sea of Stars was announced during the showcase and is a Chrono Trigger-inspired RPG and also includes music by Yasunori Mitsuda who composed music for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. After this, puzzle game Aliisha: The Oblivion of Twin Goddesses was also confirmed to be a Switch exclusive.

Various other games including Endling – Extinction is Forever, Loco Motive, Figment 2: Creed Valley, and Gerda: A Flame in Winter were also announced for Switch. Most announcements were for 2022 release but a handful will be releasing before the end of the year. In addition to Chicory, stealth puzzle game Timelie also released on the 15th and is available in the eShop now.
