Nintendo has announced that the next classic Nintendo 64 game coming to the Nintendo Switch Online will be Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
While releasing Kirby 64 isn’t officially part of the pink blob’s 30th anniversary, it’s easy to see why fans feel like it’s part of this year’s celebration.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards was released in 2000 for the N64, and it was received pretty positively overall. It’s not considered to be one of the better games in the series, but it has been re-released a few times. The 3D side-scrolling platformer was also released for the Wii and Wii U through the Virtual Console and was included in the 20th Kirby anniversary compilation, Kirby’s Dream Collection for the Wii.
Nintendo confirms that Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards will be added to the Switch Online Expansion Pass on May 20. Anyone with an active subscription to the higher tier subscription service to download and play the game next week.
