MercurySteam, the development studio behind the critically acclaimed Metroid Dread, has revealed that they are working on a brand new project which is codenamed Project Iron. Making the announcement on their official website, MercurySteam unveiled a few details about the game.
Project Iron is a third-person action RPG which is set in a dark fantasy world. There are no other specific details about the game at the moment, but they did reveal the IP is co-owned by Digital Bros and MercurySteam. Both MercurySteam and 505 Games will be working together for co-publishing the title and the development for multiple platforms.
Sadly, there’s no specific mention of a Nintendo Switch release for the upcoming game, though this is assumed for now. Since development has begun now after the completion of Metroid Dread, it seems likely that there won’t be much specific news on the game for at least a few years.
