Nintendo is continuing to make small changes to its Nintendo Switch Online Service, and the service’s most recent update adds missions and rewards for subscription holders. Players can earn Platinum Points by completing different “missions.”
At launch, missions include opening the Nintendo Switch Application once per week and also playing one online game per week via the service. The listed missions aren’t anything unusual, and most NSO users would already be doing these things anyway; however, by completing these missions, players will be able to earn Platinum Points that can be spent on exclusive My Nintendo rewards.
A variety of fun rewards have been added to the NSO service including member-exclusive icons to collect and edit. The new icon elements allow players to combine frames, characters, and background elements to make their icons more unique. Some of them also have limited time availability. Previously, Nintendo has made limited-edition items exclusively available for purchase with Platinum Points.
