Monster Hunter Rise And Sunbreak Will Not Have Cross-play With PC

Earlier this month, Capcom ran a survey about Monster Hunter Rise. One of the survey questions was about the possibility of cross-play, cross-saves, and cross-progession between the Nintendo Switch and PC versions. Sadly, this will not be happening.

Posting to Twitter, Capcom has given us an update. Cross-save and cross-play for Monster Hunter Rise and its upcoming DLC Sunbreak will not be happening. Capcom says that “after looking into it throughout the development process, we found we are unable to implement it at this time.”

While there won’t be any cross-play for the release of the game, the statement from Capcom does suggest it might still happen. It just won’t be coming any time soon.

If you were looking to buy the game on the PC when it launches next year, you’ll be starting the game over again. Monster Hunter Rise will be launching for Windows PC on January 12, 2022 without the cross-play.
