Switch Nintendo 64 Controller Out Of Stock Until 2022

If you were hoping to get your hands on a wireless Nintendo 64 controller for your Nintendo Switch by the end of the year, it looks like you’re out of luck. Apparently, there was more demand for the N64 controller than Nintendo anticipated. The N64 controller is sold out and won’t be back in stock until some time in 2022.

The retro-inspired N64 controller is now showing as sold out on both the UK Store and the US Store. The American Nintendo Store states that the controllers will not be available for sale again until 2022.

The Nintendo 64 controller for Switch is a Nintendo Switch Online exclusive for subscribers to the service. It’s an optional purchase, which is why it’s sold separately, and it’s not needed to play any of the N64 games on the Switch.

More interested in SEGA? The Mega Drive/Genesis controller is still in the stock for the US at the moment. But in the UK however, that controller is sold out, too.

So… uh… happy holidays…?
