Nintendo’s making an acquisition! But it’s not what you think. The company just announced that it has acquired land adjacent to its current headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. The announcement was posted to Nintendo’s official Japanese website with some details about the new land acquisition.
The new development will begin soon, with the project scheduled to be completed by 2027.
When Nintendo’s second HQ building is completed in 2027, it will be primarily used to strengthen Nintendo’s research and development.
Nintendo, an organization known for its interesting — and sometimes unusual — naming conventions, has chosen to go with the decidedly boring “Nintendo Headquarters Second Development Building” as a tentative name for the new building.
