The Pokémon Company has released the latest trailer for the upcoming pair of Pokémon games and revealed the two new legendaries of the ninth generation. Now listed on the official website, the two legendaries have been named Koraidon and Miraidon for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet respectively.
Both of these new legendary Pokémon have a dragon-like design with colors that match their respective game. Koraidon for Pokémon Scarlet has red scales with white, blue, and pink feathers with a black underbelly. Miraidon, the Pokémon Violet legendary, is a dark blue with a purple sheen on its skin. The announcement trailer also shows Koraidon standing on its back legs while Miraidon is floating with its back legs looking like engines.
Details on Miraidon and Koraidon are still very limited and we know nothing about their types or how they fit into Pokémon lore. Miraidon does have a shimmer that could hint toward electric or psychic, but it’s too early to know for sure.
The new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer also shows a few of the new and returning Pokémon that will be included. We’re also introduced to Nemona, the new nemesis for this generation. The trailer also confirmed that there will be co-op that allows up to four players to explore the new region and catch Pokémon together.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are releasing for the Nintendo Switch on November 18.
