Nintendo recently released an overview trailer for the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that release later this month. The new trailer shows a five-minute overview of both remakes, including the environments, battles, new features, and more.
While the trailer gives us a good look at what we can expect from these upcoming classic Pokémon remakes, but some Switch owners have already gotten their hands on these games.
As usual, Nintendo and the Pokémon Company are being secretive about the upcoming releases, but both games have been leaked. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have also now been spotted on Twitch ahead of its release date next week.
Various Twitch users have been live streaming the games to large audiences who were fast enough to find the streams. Since the initial discovery for the streams, the viewer count and number of streams have increased. Many of the streams have been saved as VoDs on Twitch, making it easy to watch some live gameplay from both games ahead of the official release date.
It’s unknown how long the streams will be online since Nintendo will most likely start copyright striking these livestreams and channels.
These leaks have given some observant games a much closer look at the remakes. Unlike Sword and Shield, the remakes have been constructed using Unity instead. This means it doesn’t use the game engine used for the most recent brand new Pokémon games.
One user posting to Twitter commented that the use of Unity means a lot of structural changes for the data storage.
Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are made with the Unity game engine! This has resulted in a lot of structural changes with how data is stored compared to Sword & Shield's data storage.

The revelation that the games are built in Unity doesn’t mean much to most gamers. However, Unity does make it slightly easier to make ROM edits and tweaks to elements such as the text.
The original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games were released for the Nintendo DS in 2006/2007, and they are the latest Pokémon games to get remakes. The Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl games will release on November 19.
