Last year, Sega announced a special HD collection of Sonic the Hedgehog titles from the classic Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. While news about this bundle has been limited, Sega has confirmed that the new HD collection would be called the Sonic Origins, and it will include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic & Knuckles with additional content and features.
Since then, though, Sega’s been pretty quiet about the collection.
But it looks like that will change soon.
Sonic Origins has been rated for release in South Korea. The listing doesn’t specify specific release platforms, but we’re expecting to see a Nintendo Switch version. The South Korean release states the collection has been rated for “All Users,” meaning it’s suitable for all ages.
Sonic Origins doesn’t have a projected release date yet, but when a game receives a rating like this one, it usually means that the release date is coming soon.
