This Engineer Made Mario Kart 8 Deluxe an Exercise Game

If you’ve ever played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and thought, “I should be exercising right now,” we’ve got a surprise for you.

Mike Choi, a hardware engineer based in the San Francisco Bay area, has created the world’s first “Labo Fit Adventure Kart Kit” to play Mario Kart 8Deluxe on his Nintendo Switch.

This Labo Kit is made up of a stationary exercise bike and a Ring Fit controller.

To play, you simply sit on a stationary bike and use the Ring Fit controller as a steering wheel. Mike didn’t mod his Nintendo Switch or his Ring-Con to make this contraption work — it’s all just clever engineering.

In his video, Mike explains how he hates exercise (over an In-N-Out Burger), but his love for Nintendo gave him the idea to make this awesome Labo experiment.

Wanna pedal your way to controlling your Cat Cruiser kart, Mr. Scooty bike, or Wild Wiggler ATV with your stationary bike? Mike walks you through how be built his Labo Fit Adventure Kart on his YouTube channel.
