You Can Now Add Splatoon Widgets to Your Phone’s Lock Screen

The latest update for the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app has just been released, and it’s dedicated to Splatoon 3. The improvements have been generally welcomed by fans on both iOS and Android devices.

Detailed by OatmealDome on Twitter, users can add Splatoon 3 widgets to their lock screens on iOS and Android. These widgets can show various things allowing users to pin their recent battle logs, map rotation, equipped gear, and more to their lock screen. It’s possible to change the size of each display on the home screen and select the mode for which to display the map rotations.

It’s a nice addition to the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app, and it’s possible other Splatoon 3 widget options will also be added in the future. In general, adding widgets to your phone’s lock screen will drain battery life faster than normal and aren’t essential… but they’re fun. Some fans are also wondering if this means Nintendo is considering widgets for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and what this could mean for future additions to the app.
